Arrive at Beaverbrook, briefing

Coffee first, then the briefing — how the Caterham handles, what to expect from the circuit, and what "regularity" means before you hear the word again tomorrow and pretend you already knew. Collect your Seven, and the excuses run out.
10:15 AM

Convoy to Brands Hatch

A guided drive down through the Kent lanes, not the motorway — the first proper chance to feel what a Seven actually does on a real road. Brands Hatch itself hosted the British Grand Prix twelve times between 1964 and 1986, with Formula 1 legends from Jim Clark to Nigel Mansell winning here — it's not just a track, it's one of the circuits that shaped British motorsport.
11:00 AM

Circuit laps, then a drift lesson

Time on track in the Caterham first, building confidence lap by lap. Then out of the Seven and into a dedicated drift car with an instructor alongside — a proper, controlled introduction to what happens when the back end lets go on purpose.
5:00 PM

Back to Beaverbrook — health suite and cinema room

The health suite to recover, then everyone gathers in the cinema room for a talk on kit cars — the history, the engineering, why a Seven still feels the way it does sixty years on — before dinner.

Depart Beaverbrook — the rally begins

Back in a Caterham Seven, road book in hand. This is a regularity rally, not a race — the winner is whoever runs closest to the target pace between checkpoints, not whoever's fastest. Precision over speed, from the first mile.
10:15 AM

Checkpoint: Box Hill

First stamp of the day, and the climb that made a national hero sweat on live television — the Zig Zag Road, tackled nine times by the men's peloton in the London 2012 Olympic road race, has been compared to Alpe d'Huez for a reason. The hill takes its name from the ancient box trees still clinging to its southern face, and the view from the National Trust summit stretches for miles across the Weald — the same view that drew Jane Austen here two centuries before any Olympian did.
11:30 AM

Checkpoint: Denbies

Through Denbies, England's largest single-estate vineyard — 265 acres of vines rolling across the North Downs, stamp collected at the estate before the road climbs back into the hills.
1:00 PM

Checkpoint: Silent Pool

A lunch stop as much as a checkpoint — one of Surrey's quietest, prettiest corners, and a proper chance to compare notes with the rest of the field.
